2024 Employee Happiness Blog

In keeping with our values of transparency and continuous improvement, we conducted our annual employee happiness survey to gather feedback from our team.

Celebrating Our Team: HigherRing's 2024 Employee Happiness Survey

As we continue to grow and evolve at HigherRing, one thing remains constant: our commitment to our team members. We believe that they are our greatest asset, and their happiness and fulfillment are paramount to our success. In keeping with our values of transparency and continuous improvement, we again conducted our annual employee happiness survey to gather honest feedback from our team. We received a 54% response rate on this optional survey and we're happy to share the results with our community!

Employee Satisfaction and Fulfillment

When asked, "How satisfied are you with your employment at HigherRing?", on average, the respondents rated their satisfaction as 4.6 out of 5 stars. This overwhelming positivity reflects our efforts to create a supportive and engaging work environment.

In terms of fulfillment, 86% of respondents rated their work satisfaction at either four or five (out of five) stars. Knowing that our team feels fulfilled and motivated by their roles is incredibly rewarding and reinforces our commitment to meaningful work. When we tell our clients that we have mission-aligned team members, we really mean it.

Valuing Our Work and Company Culture

95% of the respondents rated their sense of value in their work at either four or five stars. It's heartwarming to see that our team members feel their contributions are valued and impactful.

Our company culture received high praise, with 86% giving it a five-star rating. This feedback is particularly important to us, as we strive to maintain a culture that is inclusive, supportive, and aligned with our mission and values.

Training, Mentorship, and Growth Opportunities

When it comes to training and mentorship, 71% of our team rated their experience at five stars, and 24% gave it four stars. We are committed to continuous learning and growth, and we're excited that our team appreciates these opportunities.

A significant 81% rated their interest in growing with HigherRing at 5 stars. This enthusiasm for professional development is a testament to our team's ambition and the supportive environment we aim to cultivate.

Team Support and Leadership

An impressive 90% of participating team members rated their comfort in asking for help from colleagues and management at five stars. We believe in fostering a collaborative and open environment where everyone feels comfortable seeking support.  We have such a range of experiences across industries and client types, and we know this hard-won expertise is a huge competitive advantage in our space and a significant benefit to our clients.

In a resounding endorsement of our leadership, 100% of respondents rated their managers' support and the leadership team's modeling of our values and mission as five stars. Additionally, 100% agreed that people from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to provide input at HigherRing. These results are a powerful affirmation of our commitment to inclusive and values-driven leadership.

A Sense of Belonging

Finally, we were overjoyed to see that 100% of our team members feel a sense of belonging at HigherRing, with all giving a five-star rating. Creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and included is at the heart of our mission, and we're incredibly proud to see this reflected in our team's feedback.

Actionable Feedback

We asked the HigherRing team several prompts about areas where we could improve. Based on the team’s feedback, both independently and via the survey, we’ve begun to implement the following:

  • We recognized that team members were looking for more chances to get to know their colleagues and learn from one another. We’ve added a line item to our professional development policy to include opportunities to cross-train with other departments or team members.

  • We will roll out additional paid vacation time to team members on each employee’s anniversary date in 2025.

  • We’ve made our paid sick time off available to employees after 30 days of employment rather than the previous 90 days so our team members can utilize their benefits earlier in their tenure.

  • We’ve opened up training on emotional intelligence via a course in our learning platform and an opportunity to use our existing professional development policy for that learning.

  • We’ve allowed team members to request second monitors or cables to adapt the monitors they have at home.

Looking Forward

As we look ahead to the future, we are energized by the positive feedback from our team and are committed to building on this foundation. We’ve also encouraged our team members to request the things they need at all times throughout the year, not just via the annual survey.

We will continue to prioritize our employees' happiness, well-being, and growth – knowing that a fulfilled team is key to supporting our clients and making a positive impact on the world. Thank you to our wonderful team for your honesty, hard work, and dedication. Here's to another year of happy team members and supported clients at HigherRing!
